#FitChicks: Get Bossy With Aisha Thalia

It’s that time again! Last month we introduced you to Nini Gueco, owner of San Francisco based Avant-Barre.  This month, we continue to hip you all to some of the ladies that inspire us to not only appreciate ourselves more BUT to get up, shut up, and get s*@t done in order to live in our purpose and maximize our potential.

When people rely on surface appearances and false stereotypes, rather than in-depth knowledge of others at the level of the heart, mind and spirit, their ability to assess and understand people accurately is compromised
— James A. Forbes

At first glance (or first Insta-scroll) it’s pretty safe to assume that most people would see Aisha Thalia and immediately put her in a box.  Many of those people (and maybe even you, if we’re being honest) would take a look at this curly haired, bikini-loving chick and classify her as an Instagram model just here for the “likes” and compliments. However, if you stick around you’ll learn that this pretty girl is a beautiful soul, a highly-educated teacher, mother, activist, vegan, and business woman. So, for those of you who might be willing to see beyond the pretty face, here are our top reasons why Aisha Thalia is inspiring us in the BOSSiest way possible and why this Miami mami is our April Boss Chick!

1. Inside and Out, She’s GORGEOUS

Let’s just state the obvious, Aisha is freakin gorgeous! But more important than that, she’s a woman who makes it VERY clear that she’s just like the rest of us.  Aisha is  ALWAYS willing to share her secrets and tips with the masses via her site! Because she grew up constantly being teased and singled out because of those lovely locks, Aisha is determined to make sure that others can learn about products and techniques she uses so you can  embrace and love your hair!

2. Her Transparency will NEVER go out of style

We know first hand how easy it is to get sucked into the social media matrix and looking at someone’s highlight reel and questioning your own process.  We also know that comparison is the thief of joy, and so does Aisha.  What we love about Miss. Thalia is that the smoke and mirrors are not her game. That, more than anything, is what drew us to her in the first place. She openly and honestly shares her battles with mental illness in an effort to help others who may be experiencing the same bouts with self. Please believe, when you live your life and allow the masses to take part in it, it doesn’t come without consequences. The cool part is that Aisha’s “clap back” game is so dope, insightful, and positive that it can often leave someone re-evaulating their thought process and you will definitely walk away learning something new. May it be a new book to check out to understand the consequences of our legal system or how you should angle yourself to get the most from your selfie.

3. She’s A Giver.

Giver of life (mother). Giver of knowledge (teacher). Giver of positivity (activist). Good vibes is something that can always be appreciated and anyone who uses whatever platform that they have to benefit others is alright in our book. Aisha has a partnership with swimwear designer Lila Nikole and together they have created  Project Save Imagination, a charity that donates tuition money and/or supplies to low income children interested in the arts. Her goal is to share love and make a positive impact on the lives of others.  See? BOSSY.

Be sure to keep updated with all things Aisha via the links below and, if you're in Miami (or will be the first week in May) you'll definitely want to check out her appearance at 'Curvy, Curly, Conscious' - an afternoon filled with encouragement, good vibes, and self-love.
