Having positive affirmations, especially as a black woman, will only make you a better person!

Every day I wake up to the reality that I am raising a young black queen and serve as a guide to approximately 175 youth each year. That is a considerable role that took me a while to sit with, and the responsibility that comes with that is both immense and fulfilling.

Affirmations are a tool that I use to pour into my soul and the people I have been blessed to occupy space with. When you walk into my home, it is not surprising to see a wall of sticky notes( if you have heard me speak on any panel you know about my sticky note obsession and practices are an entire vibe) full of affirmations, motivational quotes, scriptures, and my action items. Through this pandemic, I have found myself sharing these daily affirmations via twitter or my Instagram stories, and one of my followers requested that I just put them all in one place.

When self-doubt allows those mind monsters to creep in, and you find yourself questioning and second-guessing not only your choices but who you are, here are 30 affirmations that I have come across and use in my daily practice that can remind you of your self-worth. Not only should you use these on yourself but to affirm others as well.

  1. I am a magnet for blessings.

  2. I am free to create my OWN reality. I have choices in all situations. Nothing stands between me and my highest good.

  3. I overcome fears by following my dreams.

  4. My mistakes don't define me. I will trust the process and celebrate myself for my progress. I am putting forth a genuine effort and will recognize that that is enough.

  5. I am love. I am purpose. I was made with divine intention.

  14. Your faith in yourself and your mission will take you far. Take the faith and courage of the ancestors with you. Do it scared; courage is feeling fear and taking action anyway.
