I am a creature of habit, but as I have started being consistent with my workouts I am learning that variation doesn’t necessarily mean varying style. I have been working with Frank May from Core Fitness for almost 3 months and, while we stay consistent with a traditional gym workout, he is constantly bringing in new elements that have me evolving as a fitness enthusiast.
One thing I have learned is to be careful what I ask for. After weeks of begging to try out foam rolling, Frank finally giving in, and me feeling excruciating pain that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, I decided to just stick to the program and wait to be introduced to new things. So, when I was asked to design my own custom BOSU, I thought it would be a great opportunity to try something new. Let’s just say I was both excited and terrified.
The designing part was so cool! There were so many color options and I was excited to be able to design a BOSU that mirrors the color scheme of my brand and site! How cute! But then, reality hit that I was going to have to do a little bit more than just pose with this new piece of equipment and because Frank is so intense, I decided to just teach myself how to train with this new fitness tool on my own. It wasn’t as hard as I thought because it came with a how-to pamphlet that gave visuals of different exercises you can try to target different areas, Also, there is a DVD you receive with your purchase that will help take your experience to another level.
I don’t know about you but custom anything puts an extra smile on my face and helps me to get a little bit more motivated. I have quickly learned that my core is extremely weak and I think this is just the tool to remedy that!
