So, if you haven’t figured it out just yet, February is about all things Yoga! I am slowly genuinely falling in love with the practice of yoga and meditation and since we all know I have somewhat of an addictive personality, you guys get to go on this journey with me! That said, I’d like you to meet Brooke Mays.
There are so many of us who battle daily with the unrealistic expectations that we set on ourselves and sometimes that manifests itself in different ways. There is no sure fire way to kick self-doubt in the a*@ but, I do want everyone to know that you are enough! Sometimes you just need to hear it! In a world full of pretty pictures and perfect captions it is so refreshing to get a little transparency. Brooke is a yoga loving,running addicted, fitness enthusiast who is committed to “living her life one breath at a time”. Residing in Hawaii, Brooke shares all of her good vibes via her website, Breathe Brooke where she shares her lifestyle secrets in addition to sharing her battles and recovery from an eating disorder. Not only is she beautiful on the outside but, from what I can tell, she is pretty darn awesome on the inside too! Want to meet her and get a look at what gets her through those long runs? Read below.

Running Marathons & Practicing Yoga
5. How long have you been dedicated to living a #HEALTHYLIVINGLIFESTYLE?
I changed my life when I found out I was pregnant with my son (Whistler is now 5) so 5 years ago I made a choice to live a better life free from my life-long battle with Bulimia. I no longer force fitness - I enjoy fitness! But I have always been active since I was a child. My family was always into fitness of some kind.
6. What is your absolute favorite workout gear brand and why?
7. What is your absolute favorite workout shoe and why?
Right now I love Sayanara's by Mizuno they are lightweight, fitted to my feet, and don't stretch out like shoes I have worn in the past. Love the colors too!
8. What motivates you to keep going on days that you don’t want to workout and or eat right?
Well being a fitness / Yoga instructor I am motivated and Inspired by my students. I want to work hard for them. We all have our days we don't feel like doing much of anything, but together we can encourage each other to get it done together. I will always show up and give my best for my students!!!
9. How did you come up with your playlist name?
I name my playlists by what I am teaching or feeling in the moment. Music Inspires me and sometimes I just name a playlist after a song or lyrics this particular playlist is called:
XY Powerful (it is a HIIT training class and ‘Powerful’ refers to Ellie Goulding's song ‘Powerful.’)
